According to various studies nearly three-quarter of the German population are highly interested in sustainable travel offers. Up to now this demand couldn’t be covered because of a lack of information. A new seal of quality shall close this gap.
The project Green Travel Transformation aims for increasing the offer of sustainable travel as well as making equivalent offers visible and bookable by travel agencies. For the labeling of sustainable offers a signet was developed. This will initially be used for hotels only.
Members of the sustainability initiative “Futouris” and their partners will test the signet during the upcoming months. Therefor certified offers worldwide were marked in the most common system “Bistro Portal” used by travel agencies. For now customers will find this signet only in the catalogues of tour operator Thomas Cook.
